Welcome to St. Andrew's Episcopal Church Website
When you arrive at one of our Sunday services, our greeters will provide a printed bulletin with our order of worship and scripture readings. It will list page numbers in the Hymnals and the Prayer Book. For the first-time visitor, the Episcopal Service may be exhilarating… or confusing. Services may involve standing, sitting, kneeling, sung or spoken responses, and other participatory elements that may provide a challenge for the first-time visitor. We hope that you will attend one of our services, and that the information provided here will guide you through the service.
Episcopalians worship in many different styles, ranging from very formal, ancient, and multi-sensory rites with lots of singing, music, fancy clothes (called vestments), and incense, to informal services with contemporary music. Despite the diversity of style from one church to another, there are components to the service that are similar. Our service is “liturgical,” meaning that the congregation follows service forms and prays from texts that don’t change greatly from week to week during a season of the year. This sameness gives worship a rhythm that becomes comforting and familiar to the worshipers. Children are welcome at our services. We do provide nursery care for children during the 10:00 Sunday service (throughout the year). In addition, our church school operates during the school year for children three years of age through fifth grade. However, during the 10:00 service on the first Sunday of each month, our children and youth participate in the service.
St. Andrew's Episcopal Church is located on route 15, south of the intersection of routes 45 and 15 in Lewisburg. Turn right on to Curtin Avenue and the church is immediately to your right.
Parking and Handicap Accessibility:
St. Andrew’s offers parking in front of the church on Curtin Avenue and at the rear of the church. Both have handicapped parking spaces and the church is handicapped accessible. We have wheelchair accessibility for both our worship services and Church school classes. Entering through the double red doors from the Curtin Avenue parking lot, there is an elevator directly inside, to the right. The elevator provides access to the Sanctuary on the second floor, and the Sunday School Classroom, Canterbury Room and Library on the third floor. Restrooms, the Chapel, and church offices are located on the first level. If you are unable to go to the railing for the Eucharist, please notify a greeter and arrangements will be made to have the Rector come to the pew.
